Welcome to Limeledge
Limeledge is located on a historic farmstead in Elbridge, New York and is a public botanical garden and ecological restoration site in its early stages of development.
Visitors are invited to share in its progress as Limeledge develops a destination centered on conservation, education, and native-plant stewardship.
What to Expect When You Visit
Limeledge Is a Rough, Rustic Property
Visitors should expect scenic landscapes, early-phase plantings, and ongoing restoration. Much of the property remains natural or semi-natural, with unmowed fields, rocky terrain, and limited areas where historic or restoration-related debris remains. Limeledge is intentionally not maintained like a golf-course-style landscape.
- Our plant collections are in their infancy. Many woody plants are still small and may be protected by cages, stakes, or flags.
- With the exception of more intensively maintained visitor areas such as Brookside, much of the grassland is unmowed or mowed only periodically to support wildlife habitat.
- The Cook Lot, a major developing arboretum area, includes tall grasses and selectively mowed paths.

Visiting Limeledge is free of charge.
Access to nature, beauty, and education should not require admission. Visitors are welcome to learn, reflect, explore, or simply spend time outdoors.
Visitor Essentials
A few things to know before you arrive
- Open daily from dawn to dusk, May 1–October 31.
- Motor vehicles are limited to designated parking areas.
- Bicycles and e-bikes are not permitted on Limeledge grounds.
- Stay on marked trails and paths.
- Pets are welcome but must be leashed at all times; leashes should not exceed 6 feet.
- Pet waste must be removed and properly disposed of.
- Do not enter crop fields or interfere with crops, machinery, or farm equipment.
- Restricted, construction, nursery-production, and marked caution areas are off-limits.
- Children must be supervised at all times.
- Leave no trace and pack out trash, belongings, and pet waste.
Natural Conditions & Safety
Come prepared for the outdoors
- Terrain can be uneven, rocky, muddy, or overgrown.
- Poison ivy (Toxicodendron radicans) is abundant.
- Ticks and insects are common; insect repellent and appropriate clothing are encouraged.
- Some limited areas may contain old machinery, tires, debris, or other restoration-related hazards.
- Respect barriers and signage throughout the property.
